Abstract

The medicine called balanced isotonic crystalloid solution/electrolyte solution pH 7.4 (ionic concentration mEq/L sodium 140, potassium 5, magnesium 3, chloride 98 acetate 27, gluconate 23) can be used before or after the infusion of blood through the same infusion set (structure designed to introduce a large volume of liquid into the bloodstream), added or infused together with blood components, or used as a diluent in the transfusion of packed red blood cells (red blood cells) Standardization of this drug in the List of Medicines was requested of the Federal District (REME-DF). For this, a health technology assessment tool was used, through a bibliographic survey in Medline databases via Pubmed; Embase, Cochrane Library and Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde - BVS. In view of this request, received by the CCFT, an analysis was carried out considering up-to-date literature on this product. 267 articles were found, 2 of which were included in this analysis. In conclusion, due to the lack of robust literature regarding the superiority of this product compared to others standardized in the SES-DF, this drug was not standardized within the Federal District.
